Kakadu National Park is one of Australia’s most spectacular landscapes year-round, but during the wet season—particularly Kudjewk (January to March)—conditions can change quickly.
Thirty years ago, the film Crocodile Dundee catapulted Kakadu into the international spotlight. Paul Hogan played the character of Mick ‘Crocodile’ Dundee, a legendary bushie, who had supposedly lost a leg to a croc in an outback encounter.
We’re thrilled to share that the Top End, home to Kakadu National Park, has been ranked #14 on The New York Times’ prestigious 52 Places to Go in 2026 — the first Australian destination to appear on the list.
Welcome to the monsoon season—January to March, known to locals as Kudjewk! Explore the sites open now and the tours running throughout the wet season!
New Workshop - Weaving on Country! Join Traditional Owners and Bininj members of the Murumburr Clan for a hands-on pandanus weaving experience on Country. Learn directly from Daluk (Indigenous women) as they share techniques, stories, and knowledge passed down from 65,000 years of continuous culture.
Weaving and gathering materials are traditionally recognised as Women’s business, and this experience offers a respectful way to engage with that living practice. While guided by women, both men and women are welcome to observe, learn, and take part.
The workshop is held at Warradjan Cultural Centre from June to September at 9.30am or 11.00am, and runs for 1 hour.
