Bird Week is a spectacular event that coincides with the dramatic mass migration of magpie geese. These magnificent birds flock to the billabongs, like Yellow Water (Ngurrungurrudjba), to feed, creating a breathtaking spectacle as the waters recede towards the end of the dry season. This is the perfect time to witness not only the diverse birdlife but also Kakadu's impressive array of exotic wildlife, including crocodiles, buffalo, brumbies, and wallabies.

Mayali Mulil Aboriginal Cultural Festival

6TH - 9TH SEP

You are invited to gather on Murumburr country, to immerse yourself in traditional culture at the Mayali Mulil Festival. A three-hour drive from Darwin, the Aboriginal-run festival is open to people of all ages. Camp under the stars and share in the worlds’ oldest living cultures, in one of the Territory’s most unique and intimate festivals.
