Kakadu Tourism offers two individual properties, approximately 45 mins driving distance apart. Being in the beautiful remote location of Kakadu National Park, we provide staff accommodation and meals on-site.
In the Northern end of Kakadu, the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel is situated on Mirarr Country, amongst the small township of Jabiru. The Croc provides a gateway to the Northern features of the park, such as Ubirr and illustrious Arnhem Land, while its location ensures easy access to local stores and community events including sports grounds and grocery stores.
Located on Murrumburr Country, Cooinda Lodge Kakadu is in the Southern end of the park and is perfectly positioned as a base for your adventure with attractions such as the Yellow Water Billabong and Warradjan Cultural Centre only a short walk from the property. Cooinda is also a shorter distance to some of Kakadu’s best swimming attractions including Maguk, Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls.

Working In Kakadu

Indigenous Programs
Kakadu Tourism is an enterprise focused on positive indigenous outcomes, particularly for the Bininj people of Kakadu National Park. It is owned by the traditional owners of Kakadu. Principle stakeholders include the Federal Governments Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), the traditional owners are represented through Kakadu Tourism and the facilities are managed and staffed by Accor Hotel Group.
As part of the charter for the operation of Kakadu Tourism, an Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) is in place to create opportunities for local Bininj to train and interact with the tourism industry.
Part of Kakadu National Parks charter is to only develop tourism at a pace that Is Comfortable And Set By The Traditional Owners Of Kakadu.
