Cooinda lodge, in the heart of Kakadu National Park is a resort style oasis, with facilities including: fuel station, general store, 2 swimming pools, restaurants, bars, neighbouring cultural centre, tour bus stop, laundry facilities, air conditioning, airstrip and boat ramp to the adjacent home billabong.
Mimi's restaurant at Cooinda Lodge offers comfortable indoor dining with air conditioning all year round. During the breezier months from March to September, guests can soak up the Top End vibes at our twinkling, fairy-lit Barra Bar or grab a classic feed from the Too Deadly Takeaway fish 'n' chip van for an easy picnic.
Cooinda is located in the Southern end of Kakadu, and is a perfect base for most tours. All Kakadu Tourism tours are based out of Cooinda, including Yellow Water Cruises, Kakadu Adventure tours and Yellow Water Fishing, and it is a short walking distance to Warradjan Cultural Centre. The Southern end of the park features most swimming holes and waterfalls including Maguk, Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls, Ikoymarrwa, Boulder Creek, Motor Car Falls and Kubara Pools.

Ubirr, one of Kakadu National Park’s premier lookouts and rock art sites, has reopened to visitors!
Visitors can now access the Ubirr art site from 8:30 am until sunset.
*Please note that vehicle access is limited to high-clearance 4WD vehicles only due to high water levels at Magela Creek.
Sunset at the Ubirr Lookout is one of the most special experiences in Kakadu National Park. From the top, you can take in the Nadab floodplain, hear the evening bird song, and see wallabies dart through the escarpment.
