Mimi's restaurant at Cooinda Lodge offers comfortable indoor dining with air conditioning all year round. During the cooler months, from April to September, we additionally open the alfresco Barra Bar, adorned with fairy lights for a balmy outdoor dining experience.
Hunting and gathering is integral to the sustainability of Aboriginal culture. The practice of gathering, preparing, and sharing native bush foods is a major part of the Bininj/Mungguy poeples' cultural identity, harnessing their sense of community and respect for the environment. Taking only what is needed, and nothing more, ensuring no disruption upon Kakadu's natural ecosystem.
Each month from June to September—Dine with local Bininj family and enjoy a delicious menu focused on native, foraged ingredients and learn about the local Murumburr clan of Kakadu, their culture, stories and history.
