Jabiru Fire Station Santa Lolly Run
4 December 2019
This proud tradition of the local fire station sees children in Jabiru leaving Santa please stop here signs in their front yard in the hopes that Santa's sleigh will stop at their house. Instead of sleigh bells, youngsters listen out for fire engine sirens and the Northern Territory Police, Fire, and Emergency Services volunteers a.k.a Santa's helpers follow the jolly fat man around giving out bags of lollies to kids as they go.
Jabiru Community Children's Christmas Party

This locals only event is a popular party for the youngsters and when Christmas temperatures can reach upwards of 35 degrees celcius, where else should you gather but the local pool! With every child receiving a present from Santa plus ice-cream...it's a must do for Jabiru locals. Visitors can of course make their way to the pool to enjoy the festivities however registrations for the event are limited to only locals.
Christmas Lunch at the Croc

Christmas Day is celebrated in many ways throughout Australia. It's typical for there to be a mix of traditional roasts, salads, seafood, and plenty of dessert. What's common across the board however is it's celebrated with friends and family in the coolest part of the house...usually in air conditioning! This year visitors to Jabiru can enjoy all of the lunchtime celebrations sitting alongside the locals at The Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel. With entertainment, delicious food, drinks, plus Santa for the kids, everyone is sure to leave full of the Jabiru Christmas spirit. Tickets are $99 for adults.
