Pre-monsoon build up time
The time of kangolmarnburren, when the humidity builds, kunngol (clouds) and kunmayorrk (wind) gather together from all directions. The first rains and storms are a time to think of loved ones and to think about new things for the coming year.
While the days are humid, the rains each afternoon bring a sense of comfort to Kakadu. We call it the green season, because this is when the park comes to life - lush green plants, thriving animals and incredible skies, a truly tropical summer.
