Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) is Now Closed for Visitors 2024!

Dive into the Refreshing Tropical Wilderness of Maguk! To reach this secluded oasis, adventurers embark on a scenic hike through lush monsoon forest of the Australian Outback. At the journey's end, the reward is a stunning waterfall cascading into a serene plunge pool, inviting visitors to take a refreshing swim surrounded by ancient rock formations. Maguk is a family favourite, with just a short walk to the main swimming hole. The waterfall is only open during the dry season, so make sure to check the Kakadu Access Report before you embark on your journey. The nearest services including food, water, fuel and wifi are available at Cooinda Lodge, about 45 mins drive from the carpark, so please ensure you are prepared before your adventure! Remember to pack: sunscreen, hat, walking shoes, insect repellent and plenty of food and water! You will need an AWD or 4WD to access.
