Did you know Kakadu National Park has over 10,000 crocodiles living in its wetlands, billabongs and rivers? 🐊 Seeing a croc in the wild is one of the Top End’s most unforgettable experiences!
👉 There are two types of crocodiles in Kakadu:
#1 - Saltwater crocodiles ("salties") – powerful apex predators, growing over 5 metres long and found in most waterways.
#2 - Freshwater crocodiles – smaller and more timid than salties. They rarely pose a threat to humans, but it’s always important to give them space and respect.
⚠️ Croc safety tip: Always heed warning signs, swim only in designated safe areas, and never assume a waterhole or river is croc-free.
