Explore the tops of Twin Falls through rugged stone country escarpment

This route is a moderate challenge due to its steep elevation and 6km-return length, best recommended for experienced hikers or those looking for a big day out. Despite the challenge, this trail is sure to take your breath away, with incredible escarpment rock formations and spectacular views across the floodplains and out over the tops of the iconic Twin Falls waterfall. These areas are powerful and spiritual places for Aboriginal custodians, so please respect country and tread lightly, taking nothing from the land leaving nothing behind. Please also note, Twin Falls base is closed due to cultural reasons, and the plateau walk is only accessible during the dry season. For updates, please check the Kakadu Access report below.

The nearest services including food, water, fuel and wifi are available at Cooinda Lodge, about 1.5 hours drive from the carpark, so please ensure you are prepared before your adventure! Remember to pack: sunscreen, hat, walking shoes, insect repellent and plenty of food and water! You will need a 4WD to access.
