Jim Jim Falls stands as an iconic natural wonder of Kakadu
Renowned as one of the park's most formidable waterfalls, Jim Jim Falls boasts an impressive 200m vertical drop, which is a breathtaking spectacle against the rugged backdrop of the Arnhem Land escarpment. To reach the waterfall, visitors embark on a 2km journey through sandy tracks and rocky terrains before being rewarded by a large plunge pool at the base of the falls. Take a refreshing swim and soak in towering cliffs and ancient rock formations. During the wet season, the falls transform into a thunderous cascade which is an impressive spectacle from a scenic Kakadu flight above.
The nearest services including food, water, fuel and wifi are available at Cooinda Lodge, about 1.5 hours drive from the carpark, so please ensure you are prepared before your adventure! Remember to pack: sunscreen, hat, walking shoes, insect repellent and plenty of food and water! You will need a 4WD to access.

While Jim Jim is inaccessible by car or foot during the wet season, Kakadu Air provides astonishing aerial views of the cascading waterfall, along with Arnhem Land stone country and floodplain landscapes. Available year-round, flying from Cooinda airstrip or Jabiru airport.
