📢 Jim Jim Falls Opens for 2025!

We’re thrilled to announce that Jim Jim Falls will officially open to visitors from 6:30am this Saturday, 12 July!

With its breathtaking waterfall and towering cliffs, Jim Jim is a must-see for every Kakadu adventurer. After late, unseasonal rain caused unexpected delays and road repairs, Kakadu's dedicated rangers have worked tirelessly to restore access and complete crocodile surveys, ensuring your visit is both safe and unforgettable.

But that’s not all - Maguk Falls is scheduled to open in mid July! Stay tuned for updates as another one of Kakadu’s iconic gems gets ready to welcome you back.

Bird Week in Kakadu National Park: September 24–28, 2025 🦅

Get ready for one of the Top End’s most spectacular wildlife events!
Timed with the mass migration of magpie geese, this spectacular week sees thousands of birds flocking to wetlands like Yellow Water (Ngurrungurrudjba) as the dry season ends and billabongs shrink. The skies and water come alive in an unforgettable natural display, offering incredible opportunities to spot not only over 280 bird species, but also crocodiles, buffalo, and wallabies.

Visitors can enjoy a packed program of expert birdwatching tours, cultural events with Traditional Owners, and informative talks from wildlife specialists. Whether you're a seasoned birder or a curious explorer, Bird Week is the perfect time to connect with nature and culture in Australia’s largest national park.
