Cultural Guidance

This experience is led by Murumburr Traditional Owners, and you are being welcomed onto Country. Please listen carefully, follow guidance from your hosts, and approach the experience with respect and openness.

Women’s Business

Pandanus weaving is traditionally recognised as Women’s business. While all guests are welcome to attend, parts of the knowledge shared may be gender-specific. Please be mindful and respectful of any boundaries or instructions provided on the day.

Participation & Observation

Guests are invited to learn at their own pace. Some moments may be for quiet observation, allowing space for cultural practices to be demonstrated and shared properly.

Respect for Materials

The pandanus and natural fibres used are gathered from Country and hold cultural significance. Please handle all materials with care and follow instructions when collecting or weaving.

Story & Knowledge Sharing

Stories shared during the experience are an important part of cultural knowledge. Please do not record or share these without permission, and respect that some information may not be for wider distribution.

Photography

Always ask for permission before taking photos or videos of Traditional Owners, hosts, or the weaving process. Some aspects of the experience may not be appropriate to capture.

Group Setting

This is an intimate, small-group experience. Please be considerate of others, allow everyone the opportunity to engage, and avoid interrupting your hosts while they are sharing knowledge.
