Testimonials

  • Testimonial Scott and Mark

All we had to do was give NT Driver Guide (Deb) a list of what our interests were on what to see, and a ‘MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR’ was arranged. We hiked, swam, and learnt so much about our country. There was plenty of time, we even had the opportunity to chat to Alfred, a Traditional Owner ! We are closer as a father and son because of this experience and we just want more !

Given that I knew nothing about how different Northern Australia is to the rest of Australia, a visit here with Deb in Katherine and Lake Argyle was far more than I could ever imagine. Not only did she look after us with food, snacks and safe driving, she took our interests on, and showed us landscapes that we never would have found ourselves. We have a completely new perception of Australia and we love it !! Thanks for everything

  • We spent 6 weeks in Australia. The highlight - 3 days in Kakadu with Deb ! We finally saw Kangaroo's, swam in fresh waters, hiked, and received an understanding of Indigenous Australian culture. For a bunch of city folk we were definitely out of our comfort zone, but we felt safe with Deb who totally 'got us' and just gave us a super special experience.

Mobile phone reception can be limited in remote locations. We use satellite technology for emergencies.

  • What is NT's weather like and how do you ensure safety?

Northern Australia experiences tropical weather, which means hot and humid conditions during the wet season (November to April) and warm, dry weather during the dry season (May to October). Expect high temperatures, especially during the wet season.

We are trained to manage tours in hot conditions, We provide plenty of water, and shaded break stops, and may adjust the itinerary to avoid the hottest parts of the day.

Stay hydrated, pack appropriately, and be prepared for changing weather conditions. Follow our recommendations and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

    We also carry first-aid supplies.

Safety and comfort in our top priorities. In cases of extreme weather, tours may be altered or rescheduled. We closely monitor weather conditions and provide updates to ensure your safety and enjoyment. If Monsoonal or Cyclonic conditions are evident, NT Driver Guide may need to cancel your tour, see below for the refund policy.

  • Are tours suitable for children?

Yes. We are more than happy to accommodate kids and recommend that you consider if the itinerary, distances, remote locations, and activities are suitable for your children.

In general, we recommend our tours for children over the age of 8, but we are flexible. As some of our Day Tours are public, we ask you to please consider the comfort and enjoyment of others.

NT Driver Guide is happy to arrange a private tour for you and your family otherwise.

Of course! Please inform us of any dietary requirements when booking, and we'll make arrangements accordingly.

  • Do I need travel insurance for an NT Driver Guide activity?

We recommend that all guests have their own travel insurance. It can provide coverage for unexpected situations, such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost belongings. As required by law, we have public liability insurance.

  • What is the payment and cancellation policy?

Day Tours - Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Regretfully, if you need to cancel a Day Tour less than 24 hours in advance, there will be no refund. Cancellations otherwise up to 48 hours will incur a 90% refund. All efforts to reschedule will be made; however, this is based in NT Driver Guide availability.

Multi-Day Tours - a 30% deposit is required to secure your dates and tour with the  balance to be paid 30 days prior to departure.

If you need to cancel within 30 days of departure or later, you will receive 70% of your payment as a refund. Cancellation within 7 days will unfortunately result in a 100% cancellation fee. Your tour will proceed regardless of weather conditions, or at NT Drvier Guides' discretion (depending on whether Moonsoonal or Cyclonic conditions are evident), in which case guests will receive a 100% refund.

  • Do you go to Arnhem Land?

Yes, we can arrange this as part of your package through our partners who are allowed to enter this region of the NT.

As this is restricted country, only a very select group of operators are permitted to run tours in Arnhem Land. We can facilitate this upon request at the time of booking subject to availability.
