Explore Yurmikmik walks to the lush Boulder Creek for a refreshing swim

Yurmikmik is the Jawoyn name for the country between the Marrawal Plateau and the South Alligator River. The network of walking tracks are accessible year-round, however they're best visited from December to March when waterfalls are in flow and the lush monsoon forest is in bloom. Boulder Creek is perfect for those who want a quick dip, as it's a very short walk from the Yurmikmik trails carpark. There is also a lookout further on from the falls, with a spectacle over the South Alligator catchment and the southern hills and ridges.

The nearest services including food, water, fuel and wifi are available at Cooinda Lodge and Pine Creek, over 1 hours drive from the carpark, so please ensure you are prepared before your adventure! Remember to pack: sunscreen, hat, walking shoes, insect repellent and plenty of food and water! Picnic table facilities are available near the carpark. This attraction is accessible via a gravel road and may require an AWD or 4WD, check Kakadu access report below for seasonal updates.
