The shady camping area has two excellent bathroom amenity blocks with hot showers and toilets, laundry facilities, a camp kitchen with a fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave and BBQ cook-tops. While our powered sites include potable water, there are also filtered water stations available, with access to all of Cooinda's resort-style facilities including Children's playground, jumping pillow, restaurants, fuel station and lagoon swimming pool. All Kakadu Tourism tours also depart from Cooinda, making Yellow Water Campground the perfect base for all your adventures.
Mimi's restaurant at Cooinda Lodge offers comfortable indoor dining with air conditioning all year round. During the cooler months, from March to September, we additionally open the alfresco Barra Bar, adorned with fairy lights for a balmy outdoor dining experience. Alongside this, our Too Deadly Takeaway fish 'n' chip van, The Smoking Croc BBQ house, and the early bird coffee cart are also available, each featuring traditional bush-tucker flavours combined with modern culinary techniques.
Adjacent to Cooinda Lodge, the campground is located in the Southern end of Kakadu, and is a perfect base for most tours. All Kakadu Tourism tours are based out of Cooinda, including Yellow Water Cruises, Spirit of Kakadu 4WD Adventures and Yellow Water Fishing, and it is a short walking distance to Warradjan Cultural Centre. The Southern end of the park features most swimming holes and waterfalls including Maguk, Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls, Ikoymarrawa, Boulder Creek, Motor Car Falls and Kubara Pools.
