Kakadu National Park | Explore Kakadu

Nanguluwurr is a smaller site but just as intriguing and culturally enriching for visitors to the region as Ubirr and Burrungkuy. This place was an important camping site for the first nations tribes of the area for thousands of years and has paintings in different styles and subjects spanning the years, some as recent as the 1960’s. One of the most famous rock art paintings here is of a lugger, a two masted sailing ship, providing an insight into the contact with Europeans. You can visit Nanguluwurr by taking a short 1.7km walk through peaceful woodlands.
