Green Season 4 day Itinerary

Day 1

Depart Darwin early to embark on your 3 hour drive to Kakadu National Park. Travel along the Stuart and Arnhem highway towards Kakadu and along the way visit Windows on the Wetlands, a great introduction to the wetlands area. Further along the highway keep your eyes open for giant termite mounds. Next stop is Mamukala Wetlands which are beautiful all year round.

Head to Bowali Visitors Centre, designed and inspired by an Aboriginal Rock Shelter, with a wealth of information. Check in at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel, Kakadu's only full serviced four star hotel. Enjoy a refreshing swim before heading to Ubirr for sunset, which offers magnificent views of the escarpment.

Upon return to Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel, enjoy a relaxed dinner in Escarpment Restaurant, followed by a comfortable night’s sleep to re-energise.

Day 2

Enjoy breakfast at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel. Depart the hotel travelling along the Kakadu Highway to Cooinda Lodge. Along the way be sure to visit Nourlangie Rock Art Site and the informative Warradjan Cultural Centre, located only 1km from Cooinda Lodge. Relax by the resort pool and enjoy a Sunset Yellow Water Cruise. Dinner in the relaxed open aired Barra Bar and Bistro. Overnight accommodation at Cooinda Lodge.

Day 3

Discover Kakadu with a Spirit of Kakadu Adventure Tour, which offers a full day guided Spirit of Kakadu 4WD Adventure Tour, where you will visit some of Kakadu’s most memorable sites (itinerary during the Green Season varies according to road access and environmental conditions).

Upon your return to Cooinda Lodge, freshen up with a swim in the resort pool or in your air conditioned lodge room. Enjoy dinner in Barra Bar and Bistro Overnight accommodation at Cooinda Lodge.

Day 4

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast followed by a scenic flight with Kakadu Air from Cooinda airstrip which allows you to see Kakadu waterfalls in full flow. Grab some lunch at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and catch a Jumping Crocodile Cruise on your return to Darwin.
