Depart Darwin early to embark on your 3 hour drive to Kakadu National Park. Travel along the Stuart and Arnhem highway towards Kakadu and along the way visit Windows on the Wetlands, a great introduction to the wetlands area. Further along the highway keep your eyes open for giant termite mounds, next stop Mamukala Wetlands which are beautiful all year round.
