Depart Darwin early to embark on your 3 hour drive to Kakadu National Park. Travel along the Stuart and Arnhem highway towards Kakadu and along the way visit Windows on the Wetlands, a great introduction to the wetlands area, followed by a Jumping Crocodile Cruise.
Further along the highway keep your eyes open for giant termite mounds, next stop Mamukala Wetlands which are beautiful all year round. Head to Bowali Visitors Centre, and continue your journey along the Kakadu Highway to Cooinda. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the resort style pool, freshen up in your air-conditioned lodge room, followed by a relaxing dinner in Barra Bar and Bistro. Overnight accommodation at Cooinda Lodge, home of Yellow Water Billabong.
On return to the Lodge, enjoy a short 1km walk or drive from the lodge to Warradjan Cultural Centre, which offers an insight to Kakadu’s history and Indigenous Culture both past and present. Depart Cooinda Lodge visiting Nourlangie Rock Art Site on your return to Darwin.
